ROHM Rom zero drift operational amplifier LMR1002F-LB
The ROHM Rom zero drift operational amplifier "LMR1002F-LB" has been developed for industrial and consumer electronics, reducing input offset voltage * 1 and input offset voltage temperature drift * 2 to ultra-low levels. As an operational amplifier that can accurately amplify sensor output signals in various measuring devices, the new product is very suitable for current measurement purposes such as power control inverters, as well as temperature, pressure, flow, and gas detection purposes.

In order to achieve a sustainable society, the functions and performance of onboard and industrial equipment are constantly increasing, and the control accuracy of application products is becoming higher and higher. In this context, the application of sensors for environmental monitoring has increased in order to detect temperature, pressure, and concentration of gases such as carbon dioxide and generate data. However, the signal of the sensor is very small and needs to be amplified through an operational amplifier. For example, when a general-purpose operational amplifier with an offset voltage of 1mV is used to amplify the sensor signal 1000 times, the offset voltage will also become 1.000 times. Therefore, the output signal of the operational amplifier will produce a voltage error of 1V (1.000mV). Another issue is that the input offset voltage temperature drift will change with the passage of temperature and time, and this temperature drift is difficult to correct on the application product side. In this regard, ROHM has developed zero drift operational amplifiers that can solve these problems by leveraging the advantages of analog circuit technology accumulated over the years.
The new product is the first zero drift operational amplifier of ROHM that adopts a chopping method * 3. In the past, the maximum input offset voltage of low offset voltage operational amplifiers was 150 µ V, while the maximum input offset voltage of new products was only 9 µ V, with a reduction of 94%. This will no longer require adjusting the peripheral components and software required for input offset voltage, helping to reduce design time and lower costs. In addition, within the operating temperature range of -40 ℃ to+125 ℃, the maximum input offset voltage temperature drift is only 0.05 µ V/℃, which is the lowest temperature drift product among ROHM operational amplifiers. Due to the new product's ability to accurately amplify sensor signals without being affected by environmental changes such as temperature, it helps to achieve high-precision control of industrial equipment operating in factories. Its power supply voltage range is as wide as 2.7V to 5.5V, and it also supports rail to rail input and output * 4. Therefore, it is suitable for many industrial equipment applications.
The new product has been put into mass production with a monthly output of 1 million units since November 2023 (sample price of 1.100 yen per unit, excluding tax). The production base for the previous process is ROHM Hamamatsu Co., Ltd. (Hamamatsu City, Japan), and the production base for the subsequent process is ROHM Electronics Philipines, Inc. (Philippines). In addition, the new product has started to be sold through e-commerce platforms such as Ameya360. Sekorm, Right IC, etc.
In the future, ROHM will strive to improve the performance of zero drift operational amplifiers and continue to expand its product lineup. At the same time, we will continue to strive to improve the performance of operational amplifiers in areas such as low noise, low offset voltage, energy conservation, and expanding the power supply voltage range, to meet the needs of the automotive and industrial equipment markets, and to help solve social problems by improving the control accuracy of application products.
