ROHM launches a new high-performance and energy-saving thermal print head

　　With the popularization of electronic currency payments, the demand for payment terminals and logistics mobile label printers continues to grow. In the field of mobile label printers and payment terminals, 2-cell lithium-ion battery driven thermal printers have become mainstream due to their excellent printing speed and quality. However, in pursuit of smaller, lighter, and more energy-efficient devices, the use of single lithium-ion battery drivers has gradually become a trend. However, the slow printing speed and short battery life issues it faces have limited its widespread application.

　　To address this issue, ROHM has successfully developed a new type of thermal printing head - KR2002-Q06N5AA. This print head is compatible with a single lithium-ion battery (3.6V) driver, achieving high-performance printing and saving about 30% energy.

　　KR2002-Q06N5AA adopts innovative structural design, optimizing the glaze (as a thermal storage layer) and special low resistance heating elements. At the same time, the protective film structure on the heating element has also been optimized to ensure that the generated heat can be efficiently transferred to the printing medium, such as thermosensitive paper and heat transfer ribbon. In addition, by improving the driver IC and wiring structure, the device can more effectively convert electricity into thermal energy, thereby improving printing performance.

　　These improvements enable KR2002-Q06N5AA to achieve the same printing speed and quality as traditional 2-cell lithium-ion battery (7.2V) driven print heads when using a single lithium-ion battery. Compared with existing single battery driven thermal print heads, KR2002-Q06N5AA reduces the required application energy for printing by about 30%, achieving higher energy efficiency while reducing the size and weight of thermal printer equipment.
